Ryan is a major liability right now and we already know that tons of Romney voters voted Democratic last year, so the old rules don't necessarily apply here. Handel isn't even that well liked, so the presence of Ryan can only make things worse.

Handel needs to give Trump supporters a reason to not stay home, but at the same time she's giving Republicans who hate Trump more of a reason to stay home or vote for Ossoff.

Don't count on this happening--we thought the exact same would happen with the presidential election, and look where we're at instead. Republicans will show up regardless.

Not every single race is going to mirror the presidential election. The point is that Handel coming out in support of things that are unpopular will do nothing to help her with undecided voters

GA-6 is the sort of new territory that Democrats have to play in to have a chance at winning the House. Sure, Montana could be won, but it is something that would be lower on the priority list because of how heavily it voted for Trump.

Ossoff was at 50% in one of the polls, so let's be truthful. Second, the funding put into GA-6 is not going to prevent money from being invested elsewhere, because there will be plenty to go around next year.

I disagree that the funding dynamic is bad for Dems. Ossoff has tapped into new money just for this race. If he wasn't getting this attention, the money would have stayed in people's pockets. It would be better if the wealth were spread around more, but there is always the potential for future Dem races to get Ossoffied and capture millions of dollars.

It's Republicans whose fundraising is static and which won't find new sources of funding they don't already have.

1) that's a fair point that I hadn't considered. But again, at this point Ossoff would be doing better for the party if he took like, half of this money and put it into a leadership PAC that he helmed if he lost or something equally ludicrous.

*cracking * 50%. But it's all margin of error and meaningless anyway.

Oh, okay, "cracking" (whatever that means). Moving goal posts, but whatever. If Ossoff fit a different profile, the amount of money he was raising would not even be being complained about.

If anything, Handel is more like a yes person for Trump than Ossoff is for Pelosi.

Handel seems to be calling herself Johnny, while considering Ossoff to be the golden fiddle. It's supposed to be clever, but it's really muddled and confusing.

Karen Handel is so obnoxious. I think I've heard Nancy Pelosi's name at least a dozen times.

And could she stop using "liberal" as an insult. You are supposed to represent all your voters lady.
Name calling and divisiveness is not very becoming despite who the President is.

Given how the district voted, it sounds like she's representing the will of of the voters just fine and she probably knows this.

Considering that an evenly divided district and she's not well liked, she can't really afford to alienate any voters. Get real.

There's nothing wrong with using "liberal" as an insult.

Interesting response from a "progressive". Sounds more like a right-wing response than one from a progressive.

"I don't support a livable wage."

Why would you say that?

What? Did someone actually say those exact words?
Handel said that.

Anyone else get an Obama-esque vibe from the way Ossoff speaks?? It's very similar to Obama's speaking style, re the cadence and rhythm.

I noticed that, too.

Probably are best described as fiscal conservatives. Definitely not evangelical, at least not by a large percentage.

There are two polls this week showing Ossoff leading, one of which had Handel leading right after the primary. Ossoff is likely to win at this point.

He's certainly more of a New Democrat than a Blue Dog, but there are New Democrats that also join the Blue Dogs. He probably will do both.

Miss Enormous Tentacles is not going to win. It's important to remember that Ossoff over performed polling in the first round.

It's also important to remember that this is a tossup, and anybody who claims to know a definite and airtight result has had one line too many. This is Tilt D at best, and Tilt R at the worst. That is why I think this will be a close 52-48 for Handel, BUT I am not exclusively and definately calling it for her. This is very much in play, and either side could win.

Thanks for the concern. It is duly noted.

I think Bagel wants Handel to win more than he actually thinks that she will win. Handel has been stuck at 47% in polling, while Ossoff has cracked 50% more than once. The concern trolls will say otherwise, but Ossoff is definitely in a better position than Handel.

I want Ossoff to win, I am a democrat. These polls are within the moe, and this thing is a virtual tie. Calling it for either Ossoff or Handel within a few points is sane. Any pure assurances or double digits should be taken within a pound of salt.

Mm-hmm. Okay.

Don't get too cocky, we democrats have been $&@?!slapped multiple times for it.

Karen Handel thanks you for your generous support.

It's really to Ossoff's advantage that Sanders did not endorse him.

With rounding, Ossoff is once again at 50% and Handel has stalled at 48%. I'd say Ossoff is on track to win 52-48.

Some disgusting RW troll group is putting out a last minute ad tying Ossoff to the Scalise shooting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh7ZiddrkmI

If anyone is cheering the shooting, it's Republicans who want to use it to their advantage politically.
