I can't remember her name, but the black lady in the red dress I think she was from Georgia was really good, too. Great speakers for the opening night.

Aside from the Bernie bohemians, it's been a great Night 1.
Stacey Abrams, the Minority Leader of the State House.

booing of Al Franken when he says 'when Hiillary accepts the nomination'.

Like two people Roll Eyes

Idk, I thought it was kind of substantial.

Sorry for pointing it out...

Yet, Ted Cruz throwing your candidate under the bus at the RNC was no big deal. Got it.

Such a trip.

Are people really saying it has died down?

The optics of this continue to be horrible. There's a continuous low rumble that was not present at the RNC.

Thanks for the concern. It's duly noted.

I know you probably look at the world as good solid Democrats and those people who are just too stupid or ignorant to see the light, but ElectionsGuy is a libertarian who is not supporting Trump.

Your post sounds stupid as shlt.

Don't use profanity in a post to me. And second, most libertarians are Republicans hiding behind something they are not. Most of them hate Hillary and will vote for Trump, so spare me the sob story and the dramatics.

The board is really going to get angry now. A student of Trump University is up, which is supposedly an upstanding university that Hillary Clinton has lied about to make Trump look bad. Trump is a saint, right?

Wait, I thought Trump University fraud was just a lie that Hillary Clinton made up? Isn't that what the story is?

I think the beginning of the speech was a subtle reference to the plagiarism. Michelle specifically talked about her 2008 speech and referencing her husband's character.

This is a very vengeful, borderline communist diatribe. Trump is going to get a boost whenever Chief Crazy Warren has a mic in front of her.

I think you could really have a show on right-wing talk radio.

Yes, Bernie, but Socialism is NEVER THE ANSWER.

Then you better stop driving on the roads, walking on the sidewalks and using public provided water, because that is all socialism.

Nonsense.

Not at all. Funding infrastructure through tax dollars is socialism and there is nothing wrong with that. What people fail to understand is that we have a mixed economy that incorporates elements of capitalism and socialism. If we paid for private roads and water, then we would get really gouged and no one wants that.

I am ashamed of the 43% of the democratic party that literally voted for a movement that is the beginning of America becoming China or Russia.

Bernie's proposed policies = China = Russia?

China and Russia are vastly different, and both are different than what he proposed.

Both are communist nations, Socialism is merely a step on the way to communism.

SOCIALISM IS NOT THE ANSWER BERNIE! SOCIALISM IS NOT THE ANSWER

Okay, I guess you're against the fire department, the police, national parks, public libraries, etc.

That isn't typically considered to fall under the umbrella of Socialism. Free education and health care does.

You can't pick and choose like that, economics isn't al a carte. If you pay tax dollars that are in turn used for services, that is socialism. When everyone pays a share, then it's socialism.

In that case there has not been a non-socialist government in history, nor is one possible. Ronald Reagan was a socialist, and so was Maggie Thatcher. The word has just lost every meaning it once held.

There hasn't ever been a government completely free of socialism. As I said, we have a mixed economy, which means that elements of socialism are there.

That is a definition you yourself invented. In the same spirit of individual definitional innovation I suggest another defintion: urinating is socialism. If you ever urinated in your life, you are a socialist.  You cannot pick and choose here: this is not a la carte.

BTW, what is a carte?

I cannot believe someone doesn't know what al a carte means. It's a French saying for picking separate items off of a menu without ordering an entire meal.

You need a real education and seriously. If there was no socialism involved in government, we'd have a completely capitalist economy with no taxes and where infrastructure was privately funded. I didn't invent a damn thing, you are lashing out at me because you don't understand economics and accusing me of just making up things. Get an education, get an education, get an education. You have been read.

No, that would be "a la carte" (sorry for missing the accent on the first "a", my keybord is not set up for the frenchie ones, and a Spanish accent would be wrong here). I have no clue what "al a carte" is, though Smiley

Having been a professor of economics for, likely, almost as many years that you have been around, I am mildly amused Smiley

BTW, if you have not noticed, I am the moderator of the Economics board here Smiley

I'm not in the habit of studying everyone's profile here. You need to brush up on your stuff. But then again, sometimes any random person off the street can become a professor and still not fully grasp what they have studied. I know a whole lot of people in professions and it's questionable how they got there.

L-O-L.

That should have said just any person off the street can become a professor, but I was trying to be polite. I'll edit it for the massively nitpickers here.

You have not still noticed I have been making fun of your articles/prepositions from the very beginning? I mean, it must really be difficult in life to be so slow.

I really don't care, because you didn't even understand that government funding infrastructure is in a way socialist. I've never seen a Big Time Professor (or at least that's what you claim that you are) so focused on being 100% right on a message board. Shouldn't you be doing your job?

Nice edit. Unlike you, though, I have actually studied Smiley

I talk circles around people like you on a regular basis, including a political science professor who worked for Lawton Chiles. I've written a novel, run for office, served on two appointed committees (state and local) and I've helping to advise two political campaigns. Thanks for playing.

I can imagine how much fun everybody around you has had. Unless, I presume, they actually tried reading your novel Smiley

If that makes you feel better, believe whatever you choose. What university do you work at? I'd really like to know who hired such a person. That's right, it's Trump University.

I'm not sure if some Sanders delegates realize that this isn't a contested convention, so they might throw a fit if that happens. As we saw during the primaries, many of them were not well versed on the rules.

Twitter is hardly a reliable source, but there are some people claiming that there won't be a roll call on the floor and that the vote was done at a breakfast this morning. That could just be people misrepresenting the situation, though.

The head of the Cherokee Nation doesn't look all that different from Elizabeth Warren, just sayin'.
Much of the Cherokee Nation is very diluted. I think only 1/4 is the minimum to qualify for membership.
