I've no problem with guns rights organizations existing, of course, but even setting aside the NRA's more lobbyist tendencies, I dislike the NRA's habit of talking out of both sides of their mouth. They claim over and over again that they don't mind simple and basic gun laws, or even inherently oppose new gun restrictions, but they sensationalize against them literally every time, anyway.

Politics is war by other means, they'll say whatever is necessary to keep gun sales as high as possible and gun regulations as lax as possible. Strangely enough these shootings and the reaction play a role in accomplishing these objectives.

Am I too cynical?
