I'm impressed with Coons and am glad that he will be Delaware's next Senator.

Conway's an alright debater, but he's timid. Don't expect him to really confront Paul.

I see that the Libertarian is a closet Republican...

Well, yeah. That's generally the case...
That was absurd though, he stumped for every Republican candidate, even ones that aren't "libertarian" in any way.

John Faso stuck the knife into Paladino right after the debate on Capital Tonight. He basically said he barely noticed him while watching and didn't even understand why he was up there.

So did anyone actually watch the West Virginia shindig? It's kind of funny how seemingly everyone here chose to watch a debate in a basically non-competitive gubernatorial race over a debate for one of the most competitive and important US Senate seats.
I can pretty much guess how it went:

Raese: Rubber-stamp Obamacare tax cuts cap and trade job-killer.
Manchin: Florida millionaire elitist. Also, not a rubber stamp.
You nailed it.

Did you see it, EMD?
I saw the last 15 minutes of it. It was a boring affair. Apparently Manchin did not hit Raese on his home in Florida or his wealth but did hit him over the minimum wage and a few other policy issues. Raese did predictable rubber-stamp Obama arguments.

I'd say that Raese narrowly won, even though he had to backtrack from some of his positions.

Bennet is barely edging this one out.

Also, Buck's foreign policy positions are idiotic and contradictory. They have no appeal to anyone, really.

not nation building? not giving our military strategy to terrorists? Please explain Smiley
He said we shouldn't nation build but then went on to say that we shouldn't withdraw. It was obvious that he was trying hard to appeal to both his base and more liberal voters but he failed miserably. Then he said some bollocks about how it would be okay to let Afghanistan be as unstable as Somalia or Yemen but not as unstable as is. Huh

If he is truly against the war in Afghanistan, he should come out swinging against it. He didn't and it obvious that he's willing to sell out his "non-interventionist" beliefs in order to gain approval within his party. (the same goes for Miller)

The Alaska debate was brutal. Murkowski got torn apart. McAdams went hard against her and so did Miller. Murkowski and Miller brawled over personal issues, while McAdams/Miller and McAdams/Murkowski debated over policy issues. McAdams got some really good lines in on SSP and earmarks. Miller answered questions on earmarks like a dolt and made up some bollocks on Republicans in Congress trying to end all earmarks when they take over, therefore it doesn't matter whether he supports earmarks or not.

I'd say that McAdams won based on the fact that he didn't get much flak and because so much attention was placed on the negative attacks hitting Miller and Murkowski. Oh and he took some very liberal stands on things as well. I've never seen a Democrat come out so strongly on SB-1070, or Social Security. He came off as nervous/organic (very folsky answers) but Murkowski came off as an arrogant b!tch in all of her answers. Miller came off as a hard-right ideologue but some of his personal issues came close to being resolved, as he put some pressure on Murkowski's faults. I guess Miller had some decent policy answers as well.

So McAdams got 1st by default, Miller got 2nd, and Murkowski got 3rd imo. I think this debate highlights the problems of running as a third party candidate from the center perfectly. Like Crist, Murkowski was hammered from both sides and I expect her poll numbers to sag because of it. We'll see how the press covers this.
