But you and Xahar have said the BJP's electoral base has terminally eroded. Is the UPA game plan to have Singh pull a Gladstone and lead them into a hung parliament, then bring in Rahul as the white knight to take over? Doesn't seem likely that Rahul becomes PM pre-election.

God forbid. If only someone had a workable idea how to reverse this Balkanization trend. Can't really decide what's worse: Third Front or BJP, for different reasons.

Modi is anointed as BJP PM candidate.  Advani refuses to arrive at the meeting of his anointment, might exit BJP

I assume Congress will wait to see what the new Lok Sabha looks like before choosing their PM candidate. Let Singh take the hit and Rahul swoops in later.

Sounds like a complete mess. What would happen if TF had a seat plurality? How many seats does UPA need to be reasonably certain of forming a coalition?

Interesting BBC article on the power struggle between Sonia and Singh. Question for Xahar or jaichind: whose side of that story is more accurate?
