June-December 2009

Days after the controversial June election, which led to the election of Senator Lief over Senator PiT. The decision still bears scars today. President Lief served two terms as Atlasian president, defeating PiT in a rematch later that October.

No one in recent Atlasian history is more influential than Alexander Hamilton, whose machinations divided the RPP and led to the creation of the ARC (later Populares). Also controversial in the "strategic registration" debate, better known as "zombies." was branded "public enemy number one" and his destruction became a crusade for right-wingers and left-wingers alike. The rapproachment between the two factions is widely credited with being a cause of the recent victory.

Longtime chairman of the RPP, DWTL departed amongst challenges to his leadership. He was in turn succeeded by AHDuke, who was then succeeded by North Carolina Yankee, current head of the organization. DWTL finally left in December 2009 due to differences with his party and open revolt against him, and is yet to return to Atlasia.

The Progressive Conservative Party, or PCP, culminated from the ashes of a bitter dispute that divided the party. Its selection was widely against the will of the party apparatus, and was helped by non-active "zombies" recruited by Hamilton. Mockery ensued until the party finally destroyed the name for good, returning to its roots.
