Dewey does not make the gaffes he did in the nominating season, and thus narrowly wins the Democratic nomination. Discuss with maps.

Does Dewey run as a Bourbon Democrat or as a (Free-Silver) Bryanite?

He endorsed McKinley IRL instead of Bryan, so I would assume the former.

Unlike McKinley, Bourbon Democrats were anti-imperialist. Not a few in fact switched their endorsements from McKinley to Bryan between 1896 and 1900 over McKinley's foreign policy.

 I'm not sure of all of Dewey's views, but I don't think he clearly fits into either major wing of the Democratic Party of the time.

I do know, but what I meant is that he would be somewhat similar to McKinley in personal views. I'm not really sure on his positions either, or if he really had any solid ones.
