Hah, this is basically my timeline except McAdoo instead of Wilson at the helm in 1920.

Just read "Vive Le Hughes" if you want to know what I think it will look like.

There is no third party candidate in this scenario though, who took away a lot of votes from Hughes in your TL.

Oops, yeah, forgot. I thought you were doing a version of my timeline just with McAdoo as the nominee.

Could you please do a map? I want to see what your opinion on this scenario is.

Well, had Hughes never silenced the protests, and even if he did, the country would have been moving increasingly to the other party. It would have been dismayed at the new state of affairs, and would reject the President. Plus, with unemployment rising and a weak economy, I couldn't see anything stopping McAdoo from winning.
