GOP govs running for president hamstrung by budget crises they created

I've wondered when somebody would bring this up.

Guys like Scott Walker and John Kasich are roaring into the primaries touting how they won a purple state with the promise of fiscal responsibility and succeeded, yet both still have gigantic budget deficits, and in the case of Kasich, his only success at shrinking it has come through taking on projects which increase federal funding to the state.
