New Mexico's most famous Governor, Lew Wallace, once said of his time in office here: "Every calculation based on experience elsewhere fails in New Mexico."
I think that's important to remember when talking about the corruption of a NM Governor. It's a deep rooted tradition of cronyism here. The kind that won't even respond to large sums of money.
Even Libertarian hero Gary Johnson had plenty of incidents where he allowed people in his cabinet to audit and screw political opponents one way or another, but nobody thought to make a Bridgegate scandal out of it because it's New Mexico.
