I compared the margin of support/opposition for gay marriage in each state (according to this poll) to Obama's 2012 margin of victory in each state, as a rough proxy for whether a hypothetical candidate would gain or lose votes by supporting or opposing SSM. To put it a different way, the greener the state, the more (relatively) gay-friendly its Republican voters, the redder, the more (relatively) homophobic its Democratic voters. Some interesting results.
