It's not that bad considering that it would be the best result for a GOPher in Mass since 1988.

It's not that bad considering that it would be the best result for a GOPher in Mass since 1988.
Perhaps not coincidentally, the Republican candidate then was from Massachusetts, too.

Although the Democrat was even more from Massachusetts (albeit somewhat unpopular).  However, Bush's 88 performance can be mostly chalked up to the fact that Reagan was quite popular here.
