Absolutely. The benefit provided by the FDA--deterring the production of unsafe drugs--would be provided much more efficiently by a free market.

Why would a company even want to put out a bad drug? It would lose tremendous amounts of money due to lawsuits. Companies would be motivated to check their products thoroughly before selling them.

And, let's just say that even one bad drug gets out, that would otherwise have been stopped by the FDA.  You aren't going to care much about the free market if it is your wife or kids who is one of the 10,000 people who die, because of it.
It is also possible that one very good drug would have got out, but was delayed or stopped by the FDA.
