Let me ask all of you: why should the government restrict children's access to movies based on MPAA ratings in the first place? It strikes me as censorship; in any event, the MPAA is not a government organization.

Censorship means they can't put the movie out at all.  Restrictions, though they don't work, are simply intended to reinforce parental control.
No, I would say that any form of restriction is censorship.

I feel that it is the parent's duty to protect the child, not the state's. It is not the business of the government to act as every child's nanny, telling him what he can or cannot watch.

Currently, movies rated R are restricted only to either those over 18, or those under 18 who are with a parent who approves of their watching the movie.
I thought it was 17?

I have a question... If you don't have a draft.. what happens if all the people die and there is no one left to fight, do we give  up or what?
Obviously, if every civilian is unwilling to enlist in the army, then the collective wish of the civilians will (in effect) be to surrender.
