Let me ask all of you: why should the government restrict children's access to movies based on MPAA ratings in the first place? It strikes me as censorship; in any event, the MPAA is not a government organization.

Censorship means they can't put the movie out at all.  Restrictions, though they don't work, are simply intended to reinforce parental control.

I feel that it is the parent's duty to protect the child, not the state's. It is not the business of the government to act as every child's nanny, telling him what he can or cannot watch.
