I mean, I don't see Hillary running again. And I definitely don't see Bernie running. Do the Democrats have any good candidates to be honest?
I mean, we have like eighteen months before even exploratory committees are formed. That's a lot of time for someone to make a name for themselves and position themselves as a strong candidate.

Wiki is great for a lot of things, but it's god-awful at listing potential candidates. Especially because they don't read into comments and take them at face value (I don't blame them, but it's not useful in many cases).
Yeah, it's hard to put someone in as a "maybe" when they say point blank "I'm not running for president," even if the "right now" is heavily implied.

Jerry brown seems to be making more noise these days.
If he wouldn't be eighty-frigging-three on Inauguration Day I'd be al for him. Should've been the nominee in 1976.

Hillary should just go away. Everytime she speaks, its red meat for the dopey GOP base. The GOP can't function without Clinton hate
Well, they still have Pelosi and Obama.

I would be very, very happy with nominee Gillibrand. I feel like she could really get under Trump's skin.

I just... really don't see it. And I say this as one of the resident torch waving Berniecrats on the board.
He's extremely boring which...might be an advantage in 2020 when Americans are hopefully tired of a blowhard?

Lol I know for a fact that Warren and Wolf have done at least one other fundraiser together.
I misread this and thought you were implying that Warren and Wolf were having an affair.

So did he publish the op-ed or not?
Evidently it's coming this weekend.

Why aren't former governors being considered at all? Napolitano, Baldacci, Schweitzer, Lynch, Locke even.

Baldacci? Really? Curious to hear why you think he should be considered

I mean I guess he's a bit blast-from-the-past but he doesn't seem to be outwardly horrible? I know he left office with pretty poor approval ratings, but I get the feeling that he was decently competent.
Baldacci has no personality and is nowhere near left enough. He also has no money.

Was probably already posted though I just read that Rep. Joe Kennedy III was on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah last week, always a possible sign considering the main discussion point was Trump.
I can see Kennedy in 2028 or 2032. He seems to young right now.

Hickenlooper's running, and will get 4% of the vote in Iowa.

If Bernie's running, that means Warren will probably stay out. If she runs, it increases the chances of Booker/Harris/Gillibrand being the nominee.

A centrist unity ticket would only help throw the election to the House where the likely GOP majority elects Trump.

Kamala Harris announces her support for Sanders' Single Payer Medicare bill. Possible move to appeal with progressives better in 2020?
Definite move. She's almost certainly running, and it least senses which direction the wind of the party is blowing, unlike, say, Booker.

This is the sixth year in a row he's keynoted the Labor Day Breakfast. You'd think that they'd get bored.

I mean at this rate, they can probably quote back his entire speech.

Ugh, Ryan. Go Murphy.

Merkely is clearly testing the waters in the case that no other progressives run, and in said scenario I could easily see myself supporting him. Unfortunately, though, it's really hard to see someone as uncharismatic as he is winning the nomination nowadays. That being said, of Sanders ends up winning the nomination, I think that Jeff Merkley would be a perfect choice for running mate, IMO.
I agree, but I find it very hard to believe neither Warren nor Sanders run.

Has begun seeking staff: Montana Gov. Steve Bullock, Sen. Chris Murphy (Conn.), Rep. Tim Ryan (Ohio)

> Wild cards: Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo

Any info/opinions about her?
Isn't she monumentally unpopular?

O'Malley was in Iowa yet again this weekend

O'Malley has spent so much time in Iowa the past few years he should no longer be considered a Marylander.

He could catch fire. But if he's not "exciting" or "charismatic" I could see him fading by Super Tuesday.
