You mean as a highly provocative, race-tinged sort of legislator, just for Hispanics instead of Blacks? Sort of. Grijalva is certainly on Dellum's level of race-based politics, but the fact that his district is fairly competitive handicaps him the way Oakland-based Dellums never had to deal with. Almost losing in a Hispanic-majority district to a Tea Partier seems to have taken Grijalva down a notch, and he hasn't done anything newsworthy since calling for a boycott of his own state.
