I would put money on Jindal in '16, assuming Obama wins reelection.  He needs two years as governor of Louisiana under his belt first.

He was elected in 2007, so he's currently in his 3rd year.  In fact, he ends his term right when major campaigning would start, so it's not a bad jumping-off position.

His first term would end in January 2012, right about when people will be voting in Iowa and NH.


Yeah, which means he can be campaigning for most of late 2011 while the focus in his state is on the election of his replacement.  Governors rarely do much in their last year in office.
