This is an e-mail sent by Hal Lewis, now former member of the American Physical Society, offering his resignation over the APS's actions and views on climate change.  I got the e-mail from Watt's Up With That, a skeptical climate blog.  They have asked for people to distribute this letter, thus I have pasted the whole thing here rather than excerpting.

They're making a huge deal out of this because Hal Lewis has been with the APS for 67 years and his explanation for his resignation was quite strongly worded.  I think it's important that we take what people like Hal Lewis have to say to mind.
