21 tea party/ 9-12 groups just voted in an overwhelming majority to tell Tancredo to back down and that they won't support him.

There goes the only base he could ever possibly have

Even if he gets only 5-10% of the vote, which he will, Hickenlooper will win this.

It's not all bad.  This prevents the Democrats from tying him to the Republican nominee, which was probably one of their best potential campaign tactics.  It also helps distance him from the Republican party in general, which is certainly a good thing for them in the long term.
