Enforces the right-wing message of the movie.

HP on balance, though she didn't deserve to die from AIDS. (She didn't get AIDS until after having sex with Forrest, so he's clean.)

As a side note, Bubba and Lieutenant Dan are both FFs. (Though Dan was an HP at first.)
