Is the M5S even right, left, centrist, or even vagueishly leaning one way, or is it just "we hate all politicians, end of story?"

Definitely the latter.

But leans more to the left, as far as I know.

Polls don't agree actually, but most of them point out that most of M5S voters are leftist, while about half of righist didn't vote at election or wouldn't vote in general elections.
Obviuously eventually in general election most of present not-voters will vote, and turnout will be significantly higher.

PD 26,7% M5S 18,5% PDL 17,2% IDV 7,8% UDC 7,3% SEL 6,1%

Does anyone seriously expect this to last if it's accurate?


It reminds me the Greens surge in Germany after Baden Wurtemberg in Germany, when they reached in polls more than 22%, even more than SPD. But the moment faded...
