Okay so if I take highly sensitive and classified nuclear schematics and security information and sell them to Al-Queda it's alright because they are just copies, right?

Do you believe that the former National Security Advisor is selling secrets to Al-Qaeda?  Is that what you're trying to say?

The reality is this ... the original documents were still at the National Archive and accessible to the 9/11 commission.  If he really wanted to sell this info or pass it on to enemies of America he could do it from memory.  It was stupid of him but not criminal.

The timing of these accusations is extremely conspicuous.  You would think they would have hit sooner.  But then again breaking this story right before the Dem convention does have a bigger impact, doesn't it?

If this is the best you can do for something to get righteously indignant about, you guys need to go find a hobby or something.  This is molehill stuff.  Nothing will come of it.  Rant all you like.  Nothing will come of it.

Lead story on CNN's home page right now.

But according to agcat (in another thread) the "liberal media" is trying to suppress the story.  Yeah right.  Yet there is nothing about the new Iraqi PM shooting prisoners.

This happened like 9 months ago.
Why are we hearing about it now?
There are plenty of much more interesting 9 month old Bush scandals that the media never reported much on.

Typical double standard. If a Democrat steals top secret documents the excuse is, "Well it happened 9 months ago. Why bring it up now?" or "Clinton didn't sell us out to the Chinese". Get over the BS and see this guy committed a crime. If you are that partisan you need to get a life and stop making excuses.

And how did you react in 2000 when a few days before the election the story about Bush DUI arrest break?

Apples and Oranges. DUI is wayyyy different from stealing Top Secret Documents.

Yes ... top secret documents.  Of course the originals were always in place.  So it isn't like he's forever removing them from public record.  So what's the crime?  He was allowed to have access to them.  Oh ... you're concerned that he might be selling them, is that it?  So you're accusing the former National Security Adviser of selling secret docs?

Oh pleeeeeze.  He was allowed access to them IN THE SECURE ROOM.  He was NOT allowed to walk out with them.  Concealing them?  Doing it on MULTIPLE occasions?  Classified documents still unaccounted for and presumably never to be returned?

Come on.

Are the originals still there?  Yes.
Was he allowed to access them?  Yes.

So unless you think he is selling them to "enemies of the state", where's the crime?

Yes, led by Terry McAuliffe, who is perhaps the most evil man in America.
Isn't this the kind of comment that makes conservatives cringe?  You must hate America if you believe he's more evil than the terrorists and murderers who walk the streets waiting to strike every day.

You're right. I went too far by saying he was "perhaps" the most evil man in America...I should have limited that to "most evil man in American POLITICS..."

I offer an apology and retraction of my original statement.

You see, that's how people deal with making a mistake or saying something that was inappropriate. Your side should try it sometime...

Personally I view Karl Rove as being the most evil man in American politics today.
