U.S. to Get 2.6 Million Flu Shots from French Firm

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=541&ncid=716&e=2&u=/ap/20041019/ap_on_he_me/flu_vaccine

How long until Bill O'Reilly and the archconservatives start calling for a ban on them?  Smiley

I was more amused by this story than anything.  Actually I was superamused by "Freedom Fries".

I intended this as a little bit of humor.  I apologize if it offended some.

Hah hah!  Saved by the French - how humiliating. Smiley

Humiliating?  Who was it that baled the French out of two world wars again??

Great Britain.  Smiley  To be fair the US certainly did a great deal but only after Great Britain's initial intervention.

Also, to be fair, our aid to the French could be called payback for their aid in the Revolutionary War and for their pressure Britain which helped to bring an end to the War of 1812.

Yeah, when did the French jump in?  After Saratoga when it was almost definite we wouldn't be conquered.

Oh geez ... are we really going to have this discussion?

First, history lessons.  The war began in 1776.  Saratoga was Oct, '77.  The French came in Feb, '78.  Cornwalis was defeated in Oct, '81.  The Battle of Saratoga DID NOT guarantee American victory in the Revolutionary War but it did prove that an American force could win a battle against the British.

Second, the US didn't enter WWI until 1917 when there was only about a year left in the war.
