IMO, these approval numbers for obama are true. he would have carried alaska if mccain hadn't picked palin. alaska is not THAT conservative. I expect it to be a democrat state in the next 10 or 15 years.
and miller will only win if murkowski concedes and steps aside. if she runs as a libertarian, she'll win, if she runs as a democrat (unlikely) she will win. if she makes a write-win campaign, probably mcadams wins. and finally, and most likely IMO, she will support mcadams and he will win.

or could former governor tony knowles get the D nomination? it would be a lot easier way to pick up the seat.

Democrats are inept in politics? I think REPUBLICANS ARE! if they had chosen Lowden in Nevada,  norton in colorado, grayson in kentucky, crist in florida, murkowski in alaska, and yes, probably campbell in california, they would have won in a huge wave in november.
they will have to help (economically) candidates in states that were safe pick-ups or holds, and it will be more difficult to fight in states like wisconsin, nevada or washington xD.

I won't be surprised if mcadams finally beats miller in a two way race.

let's see:

finally, mcadams will be the Democrats choice for november YES or YES. begich is supporting him.
murkowskican't run as a libertarian and has probably lost the GOP primary. so, she will retire or begin a write-in campaign. as a libertarian, she would have a lot of democrat vote, but as a write-in, I think she will steal GOP votes. see alaska gubernatorial election 1998. robin traylor was a republican running as an write-in candidate, and he received more votes than the republican nominee john lindauer. could mcadams win if miller and murkowski splitted the republican vote? I think so.
But I think murkowski won't run a campaign and will support mcadams. And mcadams will beat miller by one or two thousand votes. see the 2008 election in maryland 1st district.
