I have no problem with the Preamble.

PD is our God, don't make me quote divine scripture to you. Andrew, like myself, is a Fan of PD and I am sure he will join with me in advocating the highly respected and worshipful God PD be included in the Preamble.

I would also like to announce that I am establishing the Town named simply "PD" in the state of Massachusetts, where I will live forever, basking eternally in the glory that is PD. Anybody who wants to join me is welcome to, but if you try to bring messages of hate upon PD, then I will be forced to quote divine scripture to you. So there.

Its getting quite old...

I like everything you have, except I would like to amend section three to the following (changes in bold):

Section 3 - Religious freedom; sects equal; religious tests prohibited; religious teachers.  All individuals have a natural and unalienable right to worship or refrain from worship of any deity according to the dictates of their own consciences, and no person shall be hurt, molested or restrained in that person's liberty or estate for worshipping or refraining to worship any deity in the manner and season most agreeable to the dictates of that person's own conscience, nor for that person's religious professions or sentiments, provided that that person does not disturb the public peace, nor obstruct others in their religious worship; -- and all persons demeaning themselves peaceably, as good members of the Region, shall be equally under the protection of the laws, and no subordination nor preference of any one sect or denomination to another shall ever be established by law, nor shall any religious test be required as a qualification for any office or trust, under this Region; and all religious societies in this Region, whether incorporated or unincorporated, shall at all times have the exclusive right of electing their public teachers, and contracting with them for their support and maintenance with no interference from the government of the Region.

I like this first article of the constitution. I move that we suspend the rules and immediatly include this first article seeing as it is friendly to all parties.

Um.....what "all parties"  No one else has commented.

Who would really object to Article I. The Article I think should be left as is and voted upon.

As I have posted, I desire my modifications to be made to the article about Religious Freedom before a vote.

Why put those statements in there? The refrain from worship bit adds nothing to the text and do nothing more than to make them redudant. I mean if peronal religious freedom is guarenteed then why add the refrain from worshio parts? The article seems fine as is.

Because the current wording makes no allowance for absence of relgious belief.  It says that everyone is free to worship whatever god they want, but it doesn't say that government cant force you to pick one.

I have no objection to either 2 months or 4 months, both have their advantages.

Um, I have some serious reservations.  Are we now going to elect a regional legislature?

The people through referendum will act as our legislature.

Then perhaps that should be specifically stated in this Article.

How about this: Let's have at least two members of the legislature second the bills before debate opens?

Good idea, I second this proposal.

Shall we have the people select a leader of the opposistion since essentialy the legislature is electing the Governor?

No, there's no need to go crazy here creating all sorts of new positions.  We really dont have THAT many active members to bother with such things.

Really?  Cause the office holders thread says its the weekend of Oct. 2.

It was, or it still might be, but we had to have a Runoff election pushing Andrew and my joint term a week back. I suppose Andrew and I could hold the eletion on the 2nd. I just added 4 months to when we were elected. You're probably right though.

Siege

It was my understanding that the fact that we had a runoff in no way changed the date of the next election.
