I am personally very frustrated that Republicans keep pushing stricter abortion bans. I think there are two cancers of Republican:
1, Trump and his cultists;
2, Religious extremist.
While I am confident we can get rid of the first in the next few years, I am not sure when we can get rid of the other.
Sure; I'm pro-choice and vote consistently Republican. If you compare referendum results to general elections you'll see that there are lots of us.
I think that all Republicans are united by a distrust of mainstream institutions in the US, such as government and media, and that this distrust is rising. (In fact as US cultural influence has grown in the 21st century this has begun spreading to other societies, too). 'Trump and his cultists' are one way this distrust is expressed; when they go away they will simply be replaced by the next way. (Evangelical Christianity is probably outright growing within the US, and certainly outright growing outside the US, so this is indeed something that will be around much longer. But the
causes of Trumpism are also actually not something that is leaving our society.)
