Maybe. He has high name recognition, he's demonstrated a strong aptitude at fundraising, and he's young. He'll still be younger than your median Congressman if his next run for office is a special election in 2037.

But he should probably sit the 2018 cycle out. Defeated special election candidates virtually never win the next general election, even if it's a very good year for their party (I think Colleen Hanabusa is the one exception this century, and that was under clearly exceptional circumstances), but they can sometimes come back later with some success.
