First off I am pleased at your appointment and I have no qualms in voting for your confirmation. As sponsor of the bill to create this position I believe that an expansion in our welfare state gave us the opportunity to look closely at health, education, social services and, should my current bill pass; housing. We need a 'people person' in this post who looks out for the vulnerable in our society. I have no questions at this point Smiley

I also see this position as an opportunity to look closely at health care, education, social services.  So far, the nominee has addressed none of these concerns.  The only issue NiK has mentioned is free trade- which, has been pointed out, falls under another department's jurisdiction.

Although I did not phrase this as a question, I think my question is clear.  Smiley

I'm a little lukewarm on the nominee...I abstain.

I think Nik has a grasp of what he's going to do.  So Aye.
