Here are some regional Assembly maps for Milwaukee, Madison, and the Fox Valley/Cities:

Hey Gass... any chance you could do hi-res statewide maps? This project looks great and you should share it!

I don't have a hi-res statewide map. I am hoping that I get a map made up shortly that will allow me to color things in with paint.

But I do have a direct link to the map in DRA!

Ben Wikler elected new chair of DPW.  Won in a landslide over state Rep. and incumbent vice-chair David Bowen.

https://www.wispolitics.com/2019/wikler-wins-dem-chair-race/

He did an amazing job mobilizing folks with MoveOn against the Trump during the craziness that was year one and did a great job organizing before the 2018 election. Good choice!

Some good news from the state, Evers has now appointed 1/4 of the appeals court judges in the state.

Safe D Senate District, but the Democratic Primary could be competative here. The winner would essentailly get the seat for as long as they want.

Shockingly there are now 6 Assembly Republicans that now support legislation to implement Iowa style redistricting reform.

There is still about 25% left to report in Dane County and they've already surpassed the turnout of last year's spring election primary (which included the primary for Madison mayor) and the spring election from 2017. Probably will easily pass 2018. Could get close to 30%.

Not going to hit 30%, must have been some small precincts left that got counted. Might get to 25%.

Before tonight, I would've rated the general election Likely Korofsky (assuming she would've advanced). Now, I would say Lean Korofsky, my preliminary prediction is 53-47. There's something not good about the fact that it's always a Madison liberal running against the conservative.

Really depends on if the Democratic Primary is at all competative by early April. If it is, it's hard to see how Kelly could compete against at least 1,000,000 votes, probably more, that will be coming to Korofsky via the Democratic Primary.

A Wisconsin State Senate institution is retiring:

The Democratic Primary for this seat is gonna be nuts.

Man, it's too bad there isn't such a thing as moving the primary back....

The primary isn't the only election on April 7. There are judicial, municipal, school board, and local referendum elections taking place where it is their general election as mandated by the state supreme court. The biggest being the State Supreme Court and Mayor of Milwaukee, I'm not sure Evers has the authority to move it any more than Trump could move the general election in November. Even if he did the Republicans in the state legislature would totally challenge the move to the State Supreme Court.

Not a whole lot of choices since Republicans want the election to go on as they believe turnout will be significantly depressed in urban (aka Democratic-leaning) areas, allowing them to maintain their current 5 - 2 state supreme court majority.

The best news right now is that absentee requests have already surpassed the 2019 spring election and are already to half of the turnout of 2016 primary (both Democrats and Republicans). The state and the Biden/Sanders campaigns just need to keep pushing people to get and submit absentee ballots.

Like Clockwork

How does that make sense? Someone can get their ballot now, hold on to it until April 13th, then vote and send in their ballot 6 days after the day of the election?
