I understand that the Israel language was the hang up for the last FPR, what I have in here is what I'd want in a perfect world, but I'd be willing to listen to other ideas. The only thing that I won't compromise on is that I am not willing to provide military aid under any circumstances as long as Israel has occupation forces the Palestinian Territories and they are still building settlements there. Maybe would could provide extra economic aid to compensate?

Private negotiations first is the way to go. Israel is our greatest ally in the region and the current version will severely jeopardize that and only further alienate them. There are better ways to communicate our concerns to the Israeli government, but unfortunately the majority in this chamber have absolutely no interest in reaching a bi-partisan solution.

I will be a solid Nay against the current version. It amazes me how far to the left this Senate is turning - it is my hope that the October elections changes that.

Why do you want Atlasia to directly support, with arms, the occupation of Palestine?

Why do you want to say untrue things about me?

I have stated before that the Atlasian government needs to push Israel, but it needs to be in a reasonable and responsible manor. Placing full restrictions on them will only further alienate them, which I don't see solving the problem one bit.

Hopefully the SoEA will chime in on this soon.

Supporting Israel in any way, shape, or form = supporting apartheid

Exactly! Look into Bishop Demond Tutu views on Israel, he knows a thing or two about apartheid.

Also I don't know how you can say this is a result of a far left Senate. Full military restrictions is supported by members of all three parties in the Senate.

I think we need to remember here that the current policy is actually quite moderate- we're not talking about economic sanctions, which would actually harm Israeli citizens, instead, all we're talking about is stopping Israel buying even more weapons from us. Considering that Israel has broken numerous international laws, and has a dodgy record on human rights, that, if anything seems to lenient.

Don't forget your vote! Tongue
