Shall I bring this to a vote or do either side want more time?

I wouldn't mind if you did but I don't know about the others.

As soon as the previous one is closed.

Ok, I'll change my vote to Nay and not get Al in here.

I'd also like to note that I may be absent for the final passage of this bill; if possible, I'd like to cast an absentee ballot for that occassion:  Nay.

Not sure if it is *technically* possible... but I'll allow it anyway.

An absentee vote has been counted before as long as the bill doesn't change again from the version that said person voted on before he left.

I believe it passes now (5 of 9 voters). If so, I'd like to introduce another amendment.

Section Three shall be amended to read:

3. Sections 3204(a) and 3204(b) of H.R. 4425 (The 2001 Military Construction Appropriations Act) are hereby repealed.

No it doesn't pass, CheeseWhiz screwed it up with that case so an abstain is like voting Nay. -_-

We still need one more Aye for the other amendment to pass. We really need to fix that problem. -_-

Don't you mean Jake's other amendment?

Either way for both I vote Aye.

The Nays have Five, the Ayes Two. The Nays have it, the Nays have it.

This bill has failed

Not yet, we need six nays for it to fail.

Of course, you haven't voted yet, so you can rectify that. Tongue

Yes, one more Nay and this passes like I said on the other page.

That ruling only affects Constitutional Amendments and stuff. Court has absolutely no say over anything that is clearly internal and not mentioned in the Constitution and all that.

Meh. Nay for the record then.

You'd still need six Nays for a bill to fail because with only five Nays there could still be five Ayes and it would tie. Smiley
