Alright, since I've gotten several PMs about this, I think it merits its own thread.

Scenario: Purple State has been President for 4 months. Can he convince the Jesus Christ Party to back him a second time, or will another candidate prevail in their primary?

Candidates:

JCP

Purple State
Marokai Blue (Off)
Bacon King (Off)
Meeker (Off)

POP

Libertas
Dallasfan65
Jbrase
AndrewCT
Han (Off)
RosettaStoned (Off)
SPC (Off)
Mint (Off)
Mechaman (Off)

Anywho, as to why the RPP isn't included, I will be working on a separate version where the RPP will be out in full force (3-way election.)

This is still in the works.

Can't you do all 4 parties in 1 game? It's far less interesting when you break up the parties into several games.

Well, this is my 1st P4E scenario, and I wanted to simulate a 1v1 match-up.

The other edition of this is going to have all of them. (Sans DA, since this goes under the pretense that the DA/JCP alliance holds firm.)

February 2010 will also have all 4 parties.

Okay, so I started fleshing out the scenario with the RPP in it.

RPP

AHDuke99
Inks.LWC
North Carolina Yankee (Off)
Rowan Brandon (Off)
Smid (Off)
MasterJedi (Off)
PiT (Off)
A-Bob (Off)
True Conservative (Off)
DWTL (Off)*

* Added just for hilarity.

Any recommendations on other good candidates for the RPP bench?

Good idea - that adds some dynamic to the primary (Western candidates), which I hope I can re-configure the dates for.

Upon latter reflection, I ought to add Smid too.

What is this anyway? A forum based game or are you creating a legit PE scenario?

A legit P4E scenario.

Unfortunately, I'm broke and can't afford Campaigns Forever, so I have to manually edit the files of an existing scenario (I chose United States - 2000) and edit the margins in states for the General Election. Luckily, P4E does come with a rudimentary editor that lets me change primary percentages and pictures/names of candidates. This was my first scenario, so I was hesitant about making a 3-way, but I should be ready for it now.

If I find a filesharing website I'll be happy to upload it to one in the next couple of days, but for now I've just been emailing it.

Cheesy

Now are we going to be in our RL states or Forum states? Because I'm and Assemblyman out of Virginia in the forum.

I used Atlasia states, though in the primaries people will be finding themselves with a special bonus in both their RL and registered state.

For the states themselves in the G-E, I have them based off of how they would play out in RL elections, with a bit of imagination. For instance, Minnesota/Iowa/Washington/Oregon are much more Populare-friendly than RL Republican-friendly, but appalachia is much more favorable to the JCP.

That doesn't really make sense. Washington and Oregon are stagnant backwaters marching to the beat of the Dear Leader.

Well, the electoral map is based off US, not Atlasia, though I did contemplate having the states be based off of Registration.

A map I brainstormed:

30% - Edge
40% - Lean
50% - Strong

Might make Nevada Green, but this goes under the premise that PS is a popular incumbent.

They're pretty much the closest thing Atlasia has to the Democratic party, that's why.

Yeah, and Green was taken. Wink

The RPP will be Brown.

Perhaps you could come out with a version for each. One where the states' politics are based on the US, and one where it is based on Atlasian registration.

Perhaps... depends on time constraints and how eager I am to start a new project.

Of course, I wouldn't at all be opposed to someone else adapting the save file I have and changing the percentages.. as long as it was made clear as a 'different' version.

Minnesota should be Green, presuming Green is POP.

POP would have a fighting chance in California, and the RPP in Pennsylvania.

In an open election, certainly - though this goes under the theme that Purple State is a decent incumbent, which would tip the scales in his favor.

I'd be inclined to make Minnesota and even Cali pink-red, but with two Right-of-center parties splitting the vote it will be very hard to overcome.

Update!

I started fleshing out the RPP primary - I need to figure out how to set dates rather than them having a 50 state primary all in one day. Added Tmthforu94 to the bench of candidates.

As for the primary cycle - Duke leads in most of New England, Inks has great strength in the rust belt, Yankee dominates the South, Tmth leads in the plains, and True Conservative leads in KY+VA. Might add more candidates.

Here are two issues that I added to the scenario (For those that have not tried it yet)

Regional Rights

Far-Left - Abolish all regions! Universalism is the way to go.

Left - Abolish Regional Senate seats.

Center-Left - Constitutional amendments should be by the populace, not the region.

Center - The status-quo is fine.

Center-Right - Preserve the status-quo, Senate legislation should be more region-friendly.

Right - All Senate seats should be Regional, scale-down the power of the Senate in favor of self-government.

Far-Right - Nullification and secession are okay.

Game Reform

Far-Left - We need substantial game reform!!! Start from scratch!!

Left - Push for a legislative reboot and potentially re-examine regions.

Center-Left - We need some game reform. Continue the Constitutional Convention.

Center - The Third Atlasian Constitution is good, but needs work. Continue consolidation of some legislation.

Center-Right - Enough has been done at the Constitutional Convention. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Right - We should stop meddling with the Constitution before we do anymore damage.

Far-Right - The Constitutional Convention is a plot to further the agenda of the JCP.

Just a (very late) comment. I would personally make Vermont 30% red, though it would essentially be a swing state. Unless you have some rationale I haven't thought of ?

Nostalgia for the good old days where Vermont/New Hampshire/Maine were uber Republican. Vermont is underrated for it's conservatism, so... Tongue

Wait a minute.

Since this is Atlasia Forever, shouldn't you be setting the defaults for each state based on the actual Atlasian figures? In that case, Vermont should be JCP or whatever depending on what Atlasians are registered there.

The downside of this, of course, is that Atlasians come and go, and move to different states and regions sometimes, which alters the partisan breakdown of each state far more than it would in real life.

Yeah...

I wouldn't find that to be that meaningful, since 2 registrations could change how a state swings, and we're dealing with electoral votes.. say Texas for instance, that would swing 30+ EV's over one registration, plus states that have no residents...

Also, I like the idea of drawing inferences from US states better.

Well, given the time I made it, it looked as if PS was going to run for a second term - hence, the JCP primary is Purple State trying to get their blessing for a second term - it would be assumed the DA does not run their own against PS, and I don't think I had an extra slot for them anyway.

I think I made you and others a crusader though, HW.

Ah. Just PM me your email.

It's still very much in the beta - I haven't worked on it much since.

Heh. I should probably add Fritz and have Purple State off by default.
