This is just a banal fact. Trump is the movement, and the Republican Party has no real plan for a post-Trump world.
Reagan had mass appeal and what was widely viewed as a successful presidency. He appealed to many demographics and across the spectrum. Trump can’t even win a majority vote; his support lies solely with the MAGA crowd and reluctant Republicans. Trump has no mass appeal, and a clear majority of the nation’s electorate has voted against him in two presidential elections, plus went against him out of spite in two midterms.
If you want to sail that ship go for it.
