Social issues are my big concern. The only reason why I'm not a solid democratc is because of their insistence on being leftist social engineerS(anti-smoking campaigns, refusal to legalize drugs, keeping the drinking age high, political correctness, affirmative action) who refuse to increase individual libertries. Well that and their support of third world trash nations.
You have a lot of the same concerns I do with regards to the Democratic party, but I'm still a member because most of where I stand fits with them. The PCness, Affirmative Action, the "Black Panther Wing" of Al Sharpton/John Street/Cynthia McKinney and sometimes their support of corporate policies as opposed to the worker can anger me at times, but this is only a few Democrats. True, I am not in the coal miner/steel worker wing of the party such as my grandfather and what my dad was because I'm far more socially liberal, but that is a wing of the party we can not ignore.
