Friends, Atlasians, countrymen, lend me your ears.

I come here today announce that I shall run for President of Atlasia. It is not acceptable that unemployment continues to hover above 8%. It is not acceptable that when people are out of work we put pride and our ideologies first and punish the merchants of our nation and the poor people of other nations with embargoes, simply becuase we have disagreements with their governments. It is not acceptable that even just the thought of using force against Iran is on the table when they have not attacked us. It is not acceptable that poor people must suffer the consequences of a dollar that buys them less and less. But it does not have to be this way.  We can change this, we can turn things around, we can restore Atlasia to greatness.

I am Jbrase, a proud member of the Imperial Bloc, and in the words of Zach De la Rocho: Take The Power Back!

Thank you and Nym bless!

I am a member of the United Church of Nym. We believe that Nym is the true lord of Atlasia. I hope my Atlasia religion is not made an issue.

In the IDS we have worked hard together in a team effort to put people back to work, to reform our region so that it could once again be be a shining city on a hill, open to everyone, promoting entrepreneurship, crafting new regulations that promote saftey and good health yet do not crush people under their weight. We have transformed the region in a Cultural Revolution of Awesomeness. It is high time we take this revolution to the national level.

Who will join the Revolution?

I feel so pressed to ask you this, so I guess I will. Tongue

Speaker Jbrase, you represent a party that stands primarily for regional interests; these interests being, of course, of exclusive pertinence to the IDS.  Given this, how can the people of Atlasia be assured that you will govern the country with the interests of every region equally in mind? Smiley

Fair question. Yes I am a member of the Imperial Bloc, and I am proud of it. I am a part of a party that simply seeks to keep our Region great. While serving as Speaker of our Legislature it is my duty as Speaker and a Bloc member to work keep our region strong and move it forward. If elected to the Presidency my duty becomes to do the same for the nation.

I promise to as President fight for the rights and prosperity of every region.

Statement on Operation Cottenfield

It has come to my attention that there is a large effort to move far-left socialists and communists to the IDS. There has in response been legislation introduced to stop the flow. While I wish that all the great work that has been done to better the region is not undone in a communist revolution, I also wish that the people of the south are not forced to live in a red scare.

I cannot now, nor can I ever support the effort to limit immigration of people based on their beliefs.

With that said I welcome any new additions to our great region.

*In a speech in Cambridge, MA*

Well folks, as I am sure you are mostly aware by now, I have agreed to a primary with Pingvin. Now normally I would say no becuase we are of different parties and a primary would make no sense, however I agreed to Pingvin's request. I did so after some consideration and came to the decision that so long as the Imperial Bloc is in talks of working with the Whigs a bit more formally I shall respect the work the party members have done to bring people together. For that reason I have decided to participate.

I also made sure that our brothers and sisters in the Mideast's MCRP could participate as they share similar values and goals of the Imperial Bloc.

If I lose I shall honor the wishes of the voters and drop out. If I win, and with your help I know I can, I will continue on with our campaign and our message of good government that works for the people.

Thank you all and Nym bless!

Today I would like to formally come out in favor of the Equal Rights Amendment, and ask the Senate, then Regions to ratify it.

Thank you and Nym bless!

The current results of the primary are quite shocking, to say the least.

For anyone who cares, it's 12-9 Jbrase. Much closer than I would have though.

The votes seem to come in bursts (4 Jbrase, 3 Pingvin, 3 Jbrase, 3 Pingvin yadda yadda yadda).

I do not know why anyone would be shocked, given that the whigs outnumber the IB, and turnout from the MCPR folk is expected to be pretty low, Pingvin has had the advantage. The current results are about where I expected them to be.

There is still a few hours left for voting so I encourage anyone who hasn't yet to please go vote in the primary if eligible. And a thank you to all those who have supported us. Smiley

Also if the results tomorrow stay the same as they are now, expect a huge announcement tomorrow night!

It appears I have won the primary race against Pingvin. It was an honor running against him and I wish him the best in his future endeavors. Now I feel it is the right time to announce my running mate.

He is a man who without doubt knows the Senate better than anyone else, and as such would be the perfect choice to be president of that body. He is a person who without doubt has the experience needed to assume the presidency should something happen. He is a person who has a proven record of working with all sides for the common goal of moving Atlasia forward, while not sacrificing his principals. His service to Atlasia has without doubt made this country better off, and I have no doubt as Vice President he would continue to lead the Senate well. I am officially announcing North Carolina Yankee!

Please join me in welcoming Yankee to the ticket. Cheesy

Wouldn't it be better to have a Whig VP as a show of our parties alliance? Needless to say this is a strong ticket.
I had chosen him, and he agreed a good while before anyone called for the primary, so I wasn't going to dump him.

And Alfred, this wouldn't take Yankee out of the Senate, it would promote him to be President of it. Smiley

Thanks to everyone who has given us their vote. I wish I could have been as active in the campaign as I planned on being but at least we can all say that this campaign, on all sides, has been civil and not gone into the gutter.

Brase apparently doesn't believe in reciprocation. Why I supported him at the top of the joint ticket, I'll never know.

I'm sorry if you took offense to that, I think you'd both be good, but I've just worked more with Adam in the legislature and think he should keep his seat. Sad

I'll still vote, and I'd be willing to serve on the supreme court if ever there is a vacancy, but for the time being this is best. Smiley
