You want to know what the joke is?  The Republicans and Demcorats.  If you want to know why, look no farther than StevenNick99 and Boss Tweed.

Steven runs an extremely negative campaign (starting a thread dedicated to calling me a fraud) that results in almost no turnout in the primary.  He chooses as his successor a guy who, no offense Josh, isn't a serious person.  He has made the party more extreme than it can sustain being.  That's why people are leaving.

Fair or unfair, Boss Tweed has a bad reputation here.  The fact that he was Party Chairman for so long sends a bad message to voters.  So people leave the party.

The UAC is no joke, it is now the only force on the forum that even matters.

No offense, John, but I think I've been vindicated by the actions you've taken over the last few days.  You announced your candidacy for the republican nomination while you were already planning to leave the party for the UAC.

Let me get this straight, "vindicated"?  That's a good thing you know, it means "freed from any question of guilt" accoridng to my dictionary.  So, I guess, and this is in your own words now, only you are left to blame for the collapse of the Republican party.  Unless of course you misspoke, in which case you are an idiot who uses big words he doesn't understand, just like I had figured all along.

I look forward to the election and watching my new team beat the living hell out of your empty shell of a party.  In baseball terms:

UAC=Yankees
GOP=Red Sox

Learn to love losing, Steve.

And they let you disagree on certain points without accusing you of being a fraud or a communist.  That is the biggest difference that I have noticed, is the behavior of the two parties is inescusable, and the UAC is tolerant.  I like that.

I don't speak for the party, but most of us are pro-Iraq War and tough on terrorism.  We have a terrorism plank in the platform, and most of what we believe can be inferred from that.  On taxes, in principle, most of us are for lower taxes, but for practical reasons, we would not cut them now, because of the deficit.  On spending, there are a number of things we can cut.

1. Agriculture subsidies: They are a fine idea, but we are spending too much on them.

2. Labor department: Most people don't know that the Labor Dep't budget has more than doubled in the last 4 years.

3. Social Security: By reforiming Social Security in the manner I laid out in the Republican debates, we can reduce spending in the long term without reducing benefits.

Testaverde never won a title at Miami.  His team lost 14-10 to Penn St. in the Fiesta Bowl in the 1986 season, and that was the closest they ever came under Testaverde.  In that game, Vinny threw five interceptions.

A Heisman makes you a great QB?  Gino Toretta then?

You are a Hurricanes fan.
