As always, these maps are free for use. Edit them, mash them together, print them out and put them up your bum. Whatever you want to do.

Note to self:

Map Editions
2004, 2006, 2008, 2011 - (2003)
1997, 2000 - (1996)

1953, 1957, 1958, 1962, 1963, 1965 - (1952)

All of these will be mapped.

1949 - (1949)
N/A - (1947)
1935, 1940, 1945 - (1933)
1925, 1926, 1930 - (1924)
1917, 1921 - (1915)
N/A - (1914)
1908, 1911 - (1907)
1904 - (1903)
1895, 1900 - (1892)
1887, 1891 - (1887)

1874, 1878 - (1873)
1872- (1872)

Here are the other redistributions. If someone wanted to help me make a 1915 map, I would be willing to map these two very interesting elections.

An increase of 5X over the PLQ puts it in the QS column.

The last Leger poll had the PLQ at 22%. At those numbers, QS needs 9.9% province wide to win this seat, and the same poll had them at 8%, and the October 17th CROP poll actually puts the QS ahead in the riding based on ratio math (which has time and time again, proven to be more accurate than any other method)

The "hold up" is that I cant find the maps from the 60's, and the 50's maps, as evidenced in the first post, are not done.

I'm done the outlining of all the maps, and the West map from 66 is numbered but named. (IE the numbers are in but not the names) and the Atlantic map is about to get it's map. After that the 66 maps for Ontario and Quebec need to be de-coloured (all the colours except the colour of the border need to be removed). The 55 maps all need to be de-coloured, numbered, and named. In addition all the maps need the colour legend chart.

Hum. Yes, the border between 26 and 9 on the 93-88 maps is incorrectly placed. Also 24 is not properly labelled on the 79-84 maps. Some of the maps in addition have improper colouring, and I will correct all of these once the series is complete.

I've decided that since some maps contain errors, and, since I dont like imgur for hosting this series, that ALL of the maps so far, are "samplers". And thus, expect 1968, 1972, and 1974 samplers within an hour.

All the maps I've uploaded so far can be viewed at the national atlas of canada website.

However, the set that I just finished, is not there, and consider this was mostly in the 50's, when newsprint and television technologies would not really allow such maps, this may be the first time anyone has seen such a national map.

I will be uploading them before the day is out.

A fair warning, I made them late into the night and into the morning - so there may be errors. If you see any please note them so I can fix them.

I used the 68-11 maps from the atlas, and the 52 district maps, also from the atlas. This is as far back as I can find though (York U Library has some maps of provincial ridings for assorted years) and I can not find any more past federal ridings.

May I use your maps, hash? If you have extra copies?

http://www.parl.gc.ca/About/Parliament/FederalRidingsHistory/hfer.asp?Language=E&Search=Det&Include=Y&rid=328

Also, the history of ridings page has all ridings.

The old cities of York, East York, and North York, were once rural parts of York County.

But there never was a "York East", only an "East York", nor a "York North", only a "North York", and never was anything close to a "York West", and "York South" is known as "York".

This should help explain the York business.
