Using the calculator I get:

Nat - 70
Lab - 32
Grn - 14
Mao - 5
Man - 1
ACT - 1

A lot depends on individual seats.

Most recent poll, nov 13
Nat - 53.3%
Lab - 29.9%
Grn - 10.2%
--------------threshold
NZF - 2.4%
Maori - 1.4%
Mana - 1.0%
ACT - 0.7%

Maori has 58 where Mana has 42, which is significant, as this could mean tight races in the Maori seats. Past polling does not help as within this month alone, Maori has gone from a high of 2.1 to a low of 0.5, so we really don't know where the parties stand exactly.

National wont need one! Not at this rate. Why would the party run there if they didn't want to win anyway?

Wow, over here parties do that sort of thing semi-often, and voters sometimes do or do not complain (IE Andrew Arthur, Elizabeth May) depending on how close the party is to the candidate.

It's 5:12am right here right now. At 6:00am, here today on Thursday, it will begin being Friday, at midnight, in NZ. 3pm Thursday here would be 9am on Friday there.

At 9am on Saturday polls open. That'd make it 3pm Friday here. Polls close 10 hours later, or, 1am Saturday Morning.

So if my time is right... the NZ election starts
LA, Vancouver: 10pm friday night
Toronto, NYC: 1am saturday morning
London, Dublin: 6am
Paris, Berlin: 7am

50 is about all they need for a very narrow majority. Plus the Maori is seemingly willing to work with National and vice versa.

The more Maori seats Labour can take the better for National.

I'm thus updating my projection with this new information.

NAT 68 (majority)
Lab 35
Grn 17
VM 3

and With

Nat 65 (majority)
Lab 33
Grn 16
