Updated.

Jas voted for "Michael Anthony Naso" and dead0man as a ticket.

While it is common knowledge that Mike Naso is Reaganfan, "Michael Antony Naso" being Reaganfan is not so common. However. Being on a ticket with dead0man, and knowing that this person is likely the same Naso that is Reaganfan, my read is that this is clear enough to have been a vote for the Reaganfan/dead0man ticket.

Concerns were raised about Lief's vote, which was sketchy. It did not list the offices, nor did it list the full ticket.

On his senate vote, the candidate he wrote in was the name of an eligible candidate running in the area where he lives.

On his presidential vote, this is the most dubious of all. By writing in Fritz and AndrewCT without their running mates it may be interpreted in a few ways.
A - As a vote for Fritz as President and Andrew as VP
B - As a vote for just these men as President
C - As a vote for the tickets which they head

I am aware of past judicial rulings against the former SoFE (Fritz in fact) who was too broad in interpreting voter intent. While I may be skirting similar territory I am confidant that this case is significantly different.

Beyond that, if I am to "get in trouble" I would prefer to "get in trouble" for enfranchising too many people, as opposed to disenfranchising anyone that I do not have to by law.

I really don't know why MJ hates me so fiercely.  My arrogance??  Wha..?

Like I said earlier, I did nothing to deserve his hatred.  Maybe you're right, Earl- he hates me because I'm gay.

You're a gay?  Damn, And it's too late to change my vote. Wink

Wow, didn't knew my running mate is a gay Smiley

You're kidding me, right?  You didn't know?

I had no idea.

There have been concerns raised about Alcon's vote. While it has been noted in this thread that generally, a vote for the presidential candidate is considered a vote for that ticket, he has put "Write-In" before Fritz.

This is a complex issue that will require me to look though the laws. For now it will stand.

If anyone has legal advice one way or another feel free to post it here.

I've taken a few moments to think. This is what I've come to.

Marking "Fritz" on your ballot means a clear vote for the Fritz/Kalwejt team
Marking "Write In: Fritz/Kalwejt" would be odd and awkward but could be counted towards the Fritz/Kalwejt team as the voter has clearly specified his intent.

However. Making "Write In:" anything implies that the voter is NOT voting for any registered ticket. If the voter was, they could mark in a number or an X beside the proper name. The simple fact that it says "Write In:" implies that the intent of the voter is to not vote for any official ticket.

Therefore, I read this as being a vote for Fritz as President but no one as Vice President.  I've therefore taken Alcon off the list for now, but will continue to review this and think about this. A note as well that a ticket needs to win, so even if Fritz/Kalwejt + Fritz/Nobody > Andrew/Duke, so long as Andrew/Duke > Fritz/Kalwejt, the former wins.

I haven't actually looked at the vote in question, but I believe election law is quite clear that a vote for the Presidential candidate on a declared ticket is to be interpreted as a vote for that ticket. I can look it up if anyone wants.
I will attempt to do this right now. If anyone else has ideas feel free to post here.

But if someone only votes for one candidate, and doesn't indicate if they are voting for that candidate for President or for Vice President, it's an ambiguous vote, since we don't know which of those two offices the vote is for.

That is also true.

Also this: https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/2006_Atl._S.C.2d_3_(Christian_Democratic_Party_v._Department_of_Forum_Affairs) may apply.

https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Forum_Affairs_Law
"If a voter turns in a ballot for a presidential election with only one name listed, and if there is only one ticket that contains that person as the presidential candidate, that ballot must be counted towards the total for that ticket."

https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Consolidated_Electoral_System_Reform_Act
"Where a voter lists only the Presidenitial candidate of a ticket in a Presidential election and this is the sole occurrence of the Presidential candidate on the ballot, then the vote shall be construed to be for the ticket which the Presidential candidate is a member of."

Write In or not, the law is clear. Alcon's name has been re-added.

I do note that some of the above laws may be out of date, but, even if no "active" law exists about a situation, it if my belief that precedent would stand, and that precedent, would thus be shaped by "old law".
