We're seeing way more GOPers at this point than Dems, which is interesting.

It may be true that Republicans, Republican Congress people here, genuinely have 'family values.' Apparently, Republican House staffers were saying in December to expect a wave or Republican retirement announcements after members spoke with their families over the Holidays.

This might have had something to do with it (though this district is so Atlas blue, it wouldn't have mattered in the end)

I didn't remember that. For what it's worth, when I was speaking of 'family values' Republicans above, I meant in general. I think there have been five House Republicans who have announced their retirement since the new year.

It’s more likely that they’re sick of being in a dysfunctional party. Most of the ones retiring have been there for a decade or more and remember when the GOP were semi functional.

Maybe, but this isn't an unusually large number of Republican retirements so far.
