Fujimori, junior and senior, would never even think of voting anything other than Republican. (Don't blame me: alt-universe Steve from Lima would have voted for Pedro Castillo.)
Alberto run to the left of MVLL in the 1990 elections (well, in economic issues, but it was what mattered in that election). Also, he was more of a pragmatist following the Washington Consensus than an ideological right winger. Obviously, his life has make him more of a right winger since the 90s.
Now, I don't think he would have entered politics outside of a particular context like Peru in the late 80s and early 90s. That didn't happen in the USA.

Winston Churchill, assuming he's a McKinley Republican (conservative, protectionist and imperialist):

1896: McKinley
1900: McKinley
1904: Roosevelt
1908: Taft
1912: Taft
1916: Hughes
1920: Harding
1924: Coolidge
1928: Hoover
1932: Hoover
1936: Landon
1940 and 1944: FDR
1948: Dewey
1952: Eisenhower
1956: Eisenhower
1960: Nixon

He was a free trader.
He surely voted for Davis in 1924.

I think Vargas Llosa would not have voted for Trump either time. He didn’t endorse Fujimori until her opponent was Pedro Castillo, a man who managed to prove to be even less committed to democracy than her.
MVLL is an ideological fiscal conservative since the 80s and he has been close in the last years with spaniard social conservatives (including Vox nowadays). His rivalty with Keiko Fujimori is something more personal than ideological.
He would have supported other candidate in the 2016 primaries, but still maybe voted republican in the general. He opposed Trump IRL, but an american Vargas Llosa would have probably endep up being more conservative that the one   in OTL.
