I remember as a kid I used to sometimes get Vermont and New Hampshire mixed up.

I think for my HS freshman geography class I had to remember (MAG) to keep MS, AL, and GA straight in my head lol.

And if you were to add the Atlantic it would be MAGA

Mississippi and Alabama especially screwed me up. Delaware was hard to remember too.

That's because Delaware doesn't really exist. This fictional state was imagined by Joe Biden during one of his restless all-nighters in college, so he can run for Senate one day without having to compete in a large field such as Pennsylvania. Some people, like Tom Carper, joined the joke for their own benefit.
