This is an alliance I wouldn't mind breaking. Good riddance.

From strategic point of view it would be rather disadvantageous for the United States in the region. Hell, the main reason U.S. was propping up Marcos until shortly before his fall were military bases.

Again, I would quietly communicate to the Chinese that US would not mind if Philippines get annexed within the next 4 years, but that it has to be done fast Smiley

But, of course, this has to be done after the US dramatically takes the lead on abandoning the alliance.

It would serve as a great example for the rest of the region.

OMG, you and your newest "China will annex the Philippines" obsession again...

This time it is not an obsession, but a wish Smiley

I'm sure Filipinos are thrilled Tongue

And BTW, I don't really like the rhetoric of liking China and hating the U.S. Although, I still support Duterte due to his law and order policy (EJKs of course, not)

From what I've seen like every government since Fidel "Let's install a gas chamber" Ramos is "muh law and order" with rather miserable results.

According to his advisers and staff members, it is a mere exaggeration that he "go in hell", meaning that Obama should not meddle with Philippine issues/events

Given Duterte's last Obama-related statement I can't be surprised with such feedback.
