Next up, China! Then the Ottomans, then Germany, then Russia.

Russian developments are likely to blew our collective minds.

Red Caucasus would be more interesting, IMO. Maybe smaller area but very difficult.

Also, I'm not sure whether a Red state in Ukraine, between Germany and Kerensky's Russia, would be plausible. Too crucial of location for major players to accept such regime.

Well Caucasus is near us both (espec me!) too, so I'd be pretty down with that as well

I see it as more plausible because I think it's easier for such regime to establish in this difficult terrain, than vast Ukraine.

Anyway, don't worry, Uncle Evner will look out for you.

Wonderful!

TBH, I expected it would take longer time, so I'm doubly impressed.

Oh, a final thing! I very much encourage roleplay and getting into character, but the time area is still a sensitive one as there may be cases of genocide and potentially discriminatory policies, so don't go overboard with that or into too much detail.

I was very restrained as Abdul Hamid, even though you continued to tempt me with genocidal scenarios Tongue

Damn, why is my air force so relatively small? I remember putting a strong emphazis on it's development in previous game.

EDIT: OK, maybe not "small" per se, but seems weird in comparision with other countries, especially struggling and destabilized Russia. Also, I remember setting up marine division last time.

The Ottoman Empire has solved many issues with its army and outdated technology, but it can't handle all of them, not to mention aircraft has to be bought, the Empire doesn't not produce them as of now. The marine division I'll correct.

OK.

Well, I'll have things to work on.

I'm still impressed you managed to produce backstory so soon, Lumine.

I have one futher question, though. On the map it seems like Hejaz and Northern Yemen are together. Is that intentional or a mistake?

Goes to show I do care about the game, although I'll kick myself later for all the things I had to postpone to get the backstory done...

Yes, both are joined intentionally. Last minute change on the Ottoman backstory, there's no way in hell the British would have been able to hold onto Hejaz and Northern Yemen after the Mecca attacks. They were kicked out in a revolt, and with the instability at home the UK was not about to cause a Middle Eat quagmire. Consider it a puppet of yours, although they still have significant Saudi influence.

OK, I was just surprised. I can only imagine how... interesting having Hashemites sharing the same country with the Zaydi Shia will be.

This is going to be crazy.

And add me in all PM's! Otherwise I will simply refuse to acknowledge arrangements.

You'll regret this when you wake up and see all new messages coming in Wink

Btw, one more question. What are these new Caucasus states, other than the Cossacks.

Just to clarify something: are all orders, including "secret" orders public? What determines whether something should be PM-only?

Well, I think if you're planning to assassinate somebody or provoke an uprising, then you don't announce this in game thread. Just like Clarence ordered trans-siberian railroad to be sabotaged last time.

Okay... some things I'll need to answer too and I will, but I have about 100 different PM's, so do be patient.

I propose we should all agree to cease making new posts and sending new PMs for now.

I think I replied to questions and NPC messages, let me know if I missed anything.

I have everything I need from 10 players, China and Japan outstanding. If we get that by tomorrow, Turn 2 is up on Saturday. If not, we go with the current deadline and Turn 2 is up on Sunday. A bit of advice, it is most helpful to me when you put a title on the messages, thanks to those who have been doing it. Also, please try to compact your orders in one or two PM's, more than that and it gets confusing!

True, but sometimes you just need to react unoficially to something. Other than that, I'll try to be as constrained as possible.

I've been thinking of TTL Ottoman government. We already know that the Pashas are leading component of the regime, but since in TTL Young Turks were continuators of Abdul Hamid's reformist course, I think I can assume that several RL Young Turks are now playing important roles. And, perhaps, some RL founders of Republic, like Kemal or Inonu.

Secondly, given that there is no breakup of the empire, and with all the emphasis on multinationalism, I guess we can assume that several figures from post-Ottoman Arab states getting into the circles of power. Just as, perhaps, some people from Armenia and Azerbaijan, that otherwise would gain the prominence in the USSR.
