OK, I don't want to start another panic, but anyone has heard from Virginia? She hasn't posted in a week, and I think that coincided to when Matthew hit.

I've spoke with Bacon King on this and he checked info her county and there were no fatalities other than some old man, so she's just probably without internet.

Oh, good to know. Hopefully she's not dealing with serious material damage either.

Hopefully. We just have to wait.

My grad class professor referred to me as a "bearded savant kid" in an email.

That's awfully unprofessional.

You haven't meet my professor (from Syria), who was renaming us all. For some time I used to be known as "Yusuf". Also, and briefly, I've shared the name with some Iraqi communist leader who was hanged long ago.

Good old times Sad

A pretty vloger asked me to do do somersault on the pavement. I obliged.

Now I can die happy knowing I served some purpose after all.

I've been talking to our dearly departed friend Tmthforu94 recently and he told me that he cast an early vote for Trump.

Omg why would you phrase it that way, especially under the circumstances in which he left! At first glance of your post I thought the worst

Yeah, dude. I thought he was dead Tongue

Can we please stop declaring each others dead?

These past two days were the first time in at least a year that a forum feud has genuinely gotten at me emotionally. That probably came across in my posts. I'm better now, if anyone cares.

Another thing that happened to me yesterday is that a guy approached me while I was walking on campus, tried to strike conversation in a very rapid and forced way, and then ended up calling over a girl which I'm not clear if he knew before or was another stranger he randomly picked up. Anyway, he said he wanted to hang out and asked us to exchange phone numbers. I was seriously creeped out by the whole thing, but because I'm always too trusting and didn't have the emotional resources to say no to anyone around that time, I went along taking hers and giving her mine. They both left almost immediately.

So, the question is, assuming this is a scam of some kind, what's the worst thing that could happen to me? They only have my phone number, right, so the worst that could happen is that I get spammed with calls, right? They can't steal any information or screw me over in any way, right?

IMO he was probably a dealer; when someone comes up to you and asks for your phone number they're either doing it to mug you or so that you can get in contact you. I really wouldn't get too worked up about it (although it's always easy to say that when it doesn't affect you!)

That makes sense. I guess I won't die if I start getting a couple of junk calls every day. More than that would start getting on my nerves, but if worse comes to worse I can always change my number.

As long as my privacy is safe, that's fine.

Just be happy you never received a flood of calls/messages from a crazy girl like I had once.

I bought myself a new bed, a big cupboard, a new TV shelf, a couch and couch table today for about 5000$.

No new cuffs or leather masks?

Disappointing.

I think his basement already is well appointed.

It's hygienic to change your cuffs once five years.

I wonder if we ever see him again, given that cheering Clinton accounted for like 98% of his activity here.

My grandma's friend, who was also our neighbour, died today at hospital. She had an incurable cancer. Fortunately, it was apparently a quick death in sleep.

I think my caffeine dependency is ruining my ability to work.

Caffeine helps me a lot with concentrating. I'm brain half-dead without coffee.

In Lithuanian, a turkey is called "kałakutas"... but you need to have basic Polish knowledge to get this.

My attempts to get a short story published have all failed so far, but I must not give up hope!

I have a pretty personal moral question I would appreciate someone's advice on. Is there anyone I could shoot a PM to?

I can give you my best advice.

My attempts to get a short story published have all failed so far, but I must not give up hope!

Writing for money is not something most people can succeed in.  Are you trying to get your story published in a magazine?

Right now, I've attempted to get it in a couple online magazines. I'll make an attempt for paper magazines once I learn a bit more about them.

Did you get published?

I didn't give up and eventually succeeded.
