The Dixiecrats are dying.

Literally and figuratively.

Elizabeth Warren is a Dixiecrat?
Is someone who moved out of Oklahoma decades ago and besides that no one is saying 30% of registered Ok democrats aren't liberals.

Fred Harris was a Dixiecrat? The Dixiecratic party wasn't even on the ballot in Oklahoma in 1948, so technically there are no Dixiecrats there.

It's obviously refereeing to conservative Democrats that regularly votes Republican, not to all (especially past) Democrats from the region and not to a short-lived 1948 party, as "Dixiecrat" is being used in wider context than that.
