The British Empire doesn't seem to realize a magnitude of the situation. When we made peace, we decided to forgot the past and had to accept our territorial loses. Furthermore, we did extend the hand of friendship toward London a number of times.

However, as ruler of the largest Muslim country in the world and as a Sunni Caliph of Islam, I have an obligation to react most strongly when the holiest place of our faith has been desecrated under the British watch. We also had to protest when Britain is supporting an infamous outlaw for taking over the entire Arabia, which is our southern neighbour, risking destabilising the entire region.

My people simply would not accept me going to any "peace conferention" and pretend it's not a big deal. This is a big deal.

The Ottoman Empire does not condone killings of Jewish settlers, but we must regretfully point out that this tragedy would not occur if not for the failure of British "liberation" of Palestine and Arabia.

We strongly condemn announcement of giving the Saudi barbarians a control of the Holy City at expense of its rightful rulers, the House of Hashim, descendents of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) himself. This is just another of many British insults, thrown in the face of the faithful.

We shall continue to recognize the Shariff of Mecca as rightful ruler of Hejaz and we shall never recognize Saudi expansionism.

OOC: This is ironic cause in OTL it was that House which revolted from Istanbul Wink

OOC: A lot of developments in this game is very ironic Wink

We salute the French initiative, but, most regretfully, we cannot accept at this time an invitation. It is not possible to engage in official talks with the United Kingdom as London continues to display a belligerent and insulting attitude.

After negotiations between representatives of the Tsar, Kaiser, Sultan, and President- we are pleased to announce the following agreement

Quote

X President John Hay

I am pleased to sign this agreement. I commend the Tsar, the Kaiser, and the Sultan for putting aside old disputes and moving forward together. I believe a peaceful future between Russia and the Entente will benefit all of us- and indeed, the entire world. I look forward to seeing what we will achieve together

I'm very pleased to sign this historic treaty. The Russian Empire and the Ottoman Empire are close neighbours that can gain a lot from working together. Our past relations has been difficult, but past is the past.

Speaking frankly, we are not a democracy like the United Kingdom, but that doesn't mean I can afford to blatantly ignore the will of my people, especially when it comes to the Mecca crisis.

The barbaric attack on the Islam's most holy shrine has, it's safe to say, outraged every Muslim, myself including. While we believe it was not a deliberate action ordered by the British government, it still has happened under the British watch. Under this situation, I cannot resume our ties without causing a great uproar within the Ottoman Empire. In fact, the British should be happy we are doing everything we can internally to prevent our rightfully outraged subjects from rushing south and killing every British soldier they can find.

It is absolutely clear that the British rule over our Arab brothers is a failure.

The British government points out that the history of the Ottoman Empire has been subjugating minorities, the Armenians have been persecuted within the last decade. At least I intend to lead my people peacefully, and do not discriminate and persecute them.

Sure, you can brush off some of my examples as ancient history, but the treatment of the Armenians in the 1890's is not one of those.

So, concentration camps for the Boers are examples of British "ancient history"? No, it happened a few years ago, under the very government Prime Minister Balfour has been playing an important role with. Meanwhile, the Ottoman Empire has thankfully overcame our past ethnic issues.

Given constant insults, lies and attempts to duck the subject from the British side, we shall too recall our diplomats from Londom, effective immediatelly.

It is with heavy heart, but we no longer can tolerate British provocations, oppression of our brothers and attacking the Holy Places of our faith.

We, Sultan Abdul Hamid II, declare that a state of war exists between the Ottoman Empire and the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, as Caliph of Islam, we declare a Holy War on the British infidels and their minions. We shall not rest till the Holy Land is liberated from the heathens!

People of Arabia and Palestine!

It is time to join hands in a mortal struggle against the British infidels and their treacherous minions! Together, side by side, we shall liberate the Holy Land from a heathen occupation and brown the imperialists in the sea! In this hour of need, we all are the Muslims first and we shall avenge Mecca! The Ottoman Empire will not let our Arab brothers down!

France will need to take stock as to what to do. For now, we wish to remain neutral. However, French guards at home are put on full alert.

Naturally, we shall fully respect the French neutrality and we are comitted to continue our bilaterial relations, that are better than ever.

I echo the sentiments of my friend the Sultan

To France- we respect your neutrality, and we respect you all the more for attempting to salvage peace. Britain's offenses are too numerous to list, and are over the course of centuries. The French were instrumental in helping us free ourselves from their tyrannical rule....we have always admired our French allies and we continue to do so. We remain committed to peaceful, prosperous, mutual beneficial relationship with France

Indeed, Mr. President. We too respect France even more due to their constant committment to peace and international cooperation.

As stated in my speech to the people of Britain, the prime minister urges Canada to resist the American invaders, they just want more land and more people to oppress. How dare they tell the Africans they deserve better than us when their African American citizens toil under the Jim Crow laws! and the African-Canadians can expect little more than to see their own rights reduced.

I don't think future Canadian states are even remotely likely to adopt Jim Crow.

Perhaps not, but racism in the United States was even prevalent in the North at this time.

So was in Europe.

Also allow me to remind you- that I am no "green" President

I was an assistant to President Lincoln- who freed the slaves

So I'd bite your tongue, Prime Minister, before throwing racist accusations at me, particularly after what you oversaw in the Boer War!

Being an assistant to someone does not give you the credit for their actions. Sure your nation freed the slaves, but what did it do for them afterwards? It abandoned them. How many African Americans can actually vote in your country without being killed, beaten, or threatened?

I had no idea Black subjects of the Crown in Africa enjoys full civil and voting rights.

Russia has no intentions to enter this war and will trade with both sides. As the warring powers are unable to deal with the Turkestani crisis we will indeed take it upon our own shoulders.

Given the circumstances (enemy at our southern border), we must accept this, though we wish to ask Petrograd to some sensivity regarding rights of Turkic people and other non-Russian groups.

I see the Prime Minister is a born comedian. Certainly, it's a shame to waste his talents at 10 Downing Street. After our vistory, we must put Mr. Balfour somewhere he won't be distracted by boring government business, thereby devoting himself to the beautiful art of laughter. I'm thinking Saint Helena, for example Wink

The Ottoman Empire cannot afford to annex any land, after all they are deeply divided along ethnic lines and held up solely by their outdated military

Smiley

Well, that's funny coming from such a modern Empire, that can't deal with a few Afghans and Libyans, not to mention their abandoning of Turkestan Smiley

The Ottoman Empire welcomes Japan to our righteous cause. We are confident that neither Tokyo, not Constantinopole will rest until Asia is free from meance of imperialism.
