An interesting piece I just came across, despite it's being 4 years old. While I don't necessarily agree with placing some on the list (like Nixon who transformed the Vice Presidency into a position of actual political relevance) it's a fine read.

My favorites:

Richard M. Johnson:

Haha.

Hannibal Hamlin:

Breckenridge. Secessionist bastard.

EDIT: I should probably include Aaron Burr, the bastard who killed Alexander Hamilton. Who else do I hate? Maybe William Rufus King. But really, Burr is ridiculous.

William R. King? But what on earth did he do in first place?

I guess it's just that he was super pro-slavery, not that that's an outstanding characteristic of many politicians from that time I guess. Tongue
Cut him some slack, he died so early in his term that he didn't have much time to do any damage.

My answers would be John Calhoun (also super pro-slavery), John Breckinridge (for the reason Cathcon highlighted), Andrew and Lyndon Johnson both (although they were both even worse presidents and people), and Henry Wallace (Communist sympathizer).  Maybe Hamlin, too.

Lyndon Johnson, the man who ended Jim Crow, is in your list of bad vice presidents? Tongue

But he was a Southerner and a Democrat, which makes him a racist and a segregationist /Oldiesfreak

Nixon? I'm not sure whether you're trolling or have no idea about history. He certainly was not a bad Vice President. He transformed an obscure post into position of relevance.
