Look, Winfield, I felt very unpleasant about Obama's gaffe (considering the fact that members of my family, both Polish and Jewish, actually went throught these camps). Yet I'm not going to be a little histerical hack about this. Obama made a blunder, but apologized in the letter.

I also feel very unpleaseant about you using this already like one-week old story, for your hackish spree.

Though I do seem to remember an Obama/Polish death camp thread from a day or two ago, but can't find it now.  If someone can identify it, I'd be happy to merge this into that one.

I've been the one who started the thread but after it went quite nasty, I deleted it. Well, I see this thread is going the same way.

One last thing: an official letter with apology is really a big deal in foreign relations. Especially knowing American President's reluctance to acknowledge mistakes in general. As a Pole, I'm fully satisfied with Obama's letter, which was pretty unprecedented thing. He took a full responsibility, acted with class.

Winfield, death camps subject is far too tragic and too sensitive to use it as a reason to post another "Romney is so awesome" thread. It's distasteful.

When you used Auschwitz as a campaign stop for your character in one of the what-if games, that was tasteless enough. No need to pull stuff like this again.

Now, can we please end this chapter?

Sorry but a polish death camp gaffe isn't even as bad as Obama's on 57 states comment. Mitt's said a lot of dumb stuff from his 50.1% comment, his who let the dogs out moment, to 10K bet, to even his I like firing people comment.

This story is already like one week old and thing was setteled down already. I guess Winfield was looking really hard to find something for yet another thread, since it's pretty much a non-issue in the U.S.

For American citizen gaffe like "I like firing people" by a candidate, that is trying to present himself as a job creator is faaaaar more important than controversy over a term they don't understand.

Winfield should consider focusing his enormous energy on something actually constructive and he may achieve something.
