Not quite. Votes comes only from congressional district. No at-large votes.

Basically, candidate wins a district: one ev.

Oh, then, it's Obama 242-193. Obama won 28 states, so take 301 and subtract 56 electoral votes from the Senate, plus 3 for DC, and he has 242. McCain won 22 states, so take 237 and subtract the 44 Senate votes, and he has 193.

So, it's 242-193 if CD-only.

Are you counting D.C.?

No, I excluded DC. Sorry for the misunderstanding, but since I'm only doing congressional districts, yes, DC is excluded.

However, since the D.C. can vote in presidential, it should be, for this purpouse, treated like a district,
